The Human Factor (HF2) is a leading edge software tool specifically designed to meet the needs of the PCP community. Data entry, analysis and interpretation of data have all been streamlined in order to provide the end user with an intuitively easy to use and very sophisticated research tool. People who are already using this tool speak enthusiastically about the ease with which they can now enter their data.
HF2 can be used in several basic environments (or modes). The academic, practitioner or psychologist, can elicit a set of Elements and Constructs, and then proctor the assessment and discuss the results with the client, either in real time or printing out a report about the assessment. HF2 can also be used for the Corporate Analyst, to run HF2 with a set of Construct and Elements proctored to several employees (for instance for Diversity or teamwork) or customers (for marketing).
The elicitation process is very easy and the program is designed to assist you in developing useful sets of Constructs and Elements. There is an editing feature which you can also use to amend and finalize your data sets prior to implementation. Because of the ease of use it is possible to develop multiple sets of Constructs and Elements for the same research project. For example, if you wanted to research domestic violence you could develop CE sets for each “party” involved in the situation, including support services.
Data entry can be a very irritating process and all of us who have been involved in any form of research know how time consuming it can be. HF2 has been designed for ease of use. You have four choices when you are entering the data. You can use “sliders” or an integer system using a spreadsheet within the program. If you select to use the sliders you can choose to either drag or click in order to make your selection. We have also made it possible for the end user to select whether they want to enter the data by Construct or by Element. In other words the program will present all of the Constructs on a bipolar scale and only present one Element at a time; or, the program will present all of the Elements on a bipolar scale and only present one Construct at a time. Depending on the topic you are researching there are advantages to each of these methods. You will also be able, with one click, to select to have the participants only see one statement at a time, instead of being presented with all of the constructs or elements. HF2 provides every possible variation to make entering your research data easier than ever before.
As with the elicitation and data entry process, you will see that the Reporting structure of HF2 is equally accessible. Results are being recorded simultaneously as you are entering your data and with the click of one button you have instant access to your research results. When all of the data has been entered you can click on the Report tabs and you will instantly be given access to your research results. The results come in many different formats including the Rotational Sphere which is a 3D chart which is very easy to interpret. The sphere rotates on any axis allowing you to view the data easily. The rotational sphere, the sorted list and the text based feedback are among the most popular elements of this new program.
